August 5th

Today we toured the Billy Graham Library which is in Charlotte.  What an inspiring place.  The home in the foreground is where Billy was raised.  It was actually located in another area and was moved here, piece by piece.  The large barn in the back is the actual Library that was built with Billy Graham's story and his legacy.  An amazing and uplifting place to visit.

This is a replica (or maybe the original?) truck used on the Grahams Dairy Farm.  They had 70 cows, which was their main source of income.

We enjoyed lunch at the Dairy Bar, before we started the tour. David had a chicken salad sandwich that was made using Billy's mom's original recipe.
This is a replica of the Graham's family room.

And a picture of Billy's wife, Ruth who is buried on the Library grounds.

One of his favorite passages...

Another quote...

A replica of his office...

The entrance to the Library...

Later this day...

More B-B-Q!!!  We attended the National Night Out in the park in downtown Belmont.  Once again, David was in heaven!

Bounce houses for the kids...

A nice turn out...

And later on the same day...

Another car show, this time at Christopher's Bar & Grill just down the street from our apartment!!!

While we were walking around, I saw this guy and asked him if I could take a picture of his t-shirt.
He proudly said "yes" and added that his daughter had bought it for him----hmmm!

A nightcap at Christopher's before heading home.
